"2 TPH" means 2 tons per hour: 2,000 liters every hour, or roughly 48,000 liters a day if you run it continuously. It's a reverse osmosis system. Water is pushed under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane that holds back dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, and most organic matter, while clean water passes through.
The machine itself is a skid with filter tanks, a high-pressure pump, and the membrane vessels, all wired to an automatic control panel.
This unit accepts both groundwater and tap water, which is why it does well in areas where neither source is great on its own.
Groundwater (borewell or well water). Most well water carries hardness, iron, and dissolved solids, and the mix changes a lot from one region to the next. The sand filter pulls out sediment and suspended solids before they reach the membranes. That keeps the RO elements clean and means you're not replacing membranes every few months.
Tap water (municipal supply). City water is generally cleaner, but it still carries residual chlorine and a little sediment. The activated carbon filter strips the chlorine — chlorine is hard on RO membranes — and the security filter catches anything fine that gets through.
The flow inside the unit:
Raw water tank → raw water pump → quartz sand filter → activated carbon filter → security filter → high-pressure pump → RO membrane → pure water tank
In plain terms: water comes in, gets filtered twice, gets pushed hard through the membrane, and lands in a storage tank. The control panel runs the cycle automatically, so day-to-day operation is mostly turning it on, checking the gauges, and letting it work.
